The Last of Basketball

We finished the basketball season this past

week. It was a fun time, but I'm glad to

have some more time at home now!

We had beautiful weather this past couple days

and got outside to ride bikes and play

baseball at the park.

(Mom and Dad lost 4 to 8.)

Alex and his friend from church were on the

same team together-The Cavaliers!

Pop-pop and Nana were the best fans

of the season! They made it to almost

all the boys games, I think!!

We SO appreciate their faithful support,

especially since it is a 40 minute

drive each way.

Upward had a night to go to the the Blazer's game

as a group. After the game the kids were able

to go down on the court and shoot from the

free throw line. (Michael, Alex and Josh

all missed-oh the pressure!)

Michael enjoyed help from Ehren this season.
He helped every week at practice and
at the games! (Ehren is Connor's dad. Connor
was on Josh's team with him this year.)


The awards night for basketball included a speaker
who did a great job sharing with the
kids through his "dummy" and his tricks
of illusion. It was a fun night, where each
kid got an Upward backpack and had
their name announced by their coach as
they went across the stage!

Stuff!

Here are the new spy guys in the

neighborhood-complete with light sabers!

Joshua lost his first tooth @ 7 1/2 years old!

He has been waiting and waiting for it to happen.

(Alex lost his first tooth at 5 1/2 years old.)

His tooth was very loose and finally was knocked

out when he was playing basketball in the hallway.

(We have a hoop that hangs on the back of the

bathroom door.)

Not sure what this is.



The boys like to listen to a Christian singer called
Toby Mac. Josh decided he needed a soul patch
and other writings on his body.
Alex followed his lead!

Weekend Visit With Family

We so enjoyed our weekend with visiting family!

Grandpa Fred AND Matt, Mindy and Jay

all were here in town on the same

weekend. We watched the boys

playing basketball. (Jay cheered along with

the cheerleaders!)

We had a wonderful dinner Saturday night

at Pop-pop and Nana's house.

I must have been talking a lot

because I actually didn't take many pictures

lesson into a game show, with the numbers

Upward Basketball 2010

Today was the first Saturday of basketball

season! Fun, fun! The boys have been

practicing for a few weeks and very excited

for the first game. Dad is coaching Josh's team.

Both boys have friends from church on their

teams and Alex even has a friend doing

cheerleading this year! Great times:)

They were pretty tired but they had a great game!

The boys get a snack after the game to revive

themselves! They also receive stars to

encourage them to keep developing

their skills and sportsmanship.

There is even a star for Christ-likeness!

This is Alex's fifth year playing. His team name

is the Cavaliers. He's wearing the "home" team color

and Josh had on the "away" team color.

(Great reversible uniforms!)

Christmas 2009

Christmas took a long time to come,

according to the boys anyway!

As soon as Daddy got home on Christmas Eve

Alex and Josh were able to open the

gifts that they had gotten for each other.

Excitement was running very high....

Soon after we headed to church for our

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service!

After the service we enjoyed food and fellowship

with many at our friend's home. We

had a wonderful time!

We played a game called Hummmble.

Each team had one player hum a tune and

the others on the team had to guess.

We played guys against the gals and the

gals were victorious!

The ladies got lots of laughs listening to
the guys trying to hum!

Lovely gals-are they all sisters?!

What a good friend I have!!!

Christmas morning we dragged out of bed around

7:30 am! As is our tradition, we read the

Christmas story and acted it out with the

Playmobile nativity scene that we have.

(Dad was sporting his reading glasses and

Mom hadn't put in her contacts yet.)

Alex was excited to get basketball shoes!

The day after Christmas we enjoyed dinner and

playing a new game with Pop-pop and Nana!

Snow came a few days after Christmas but

was stilled enjoyed it!

The boys always love to play football in the front yard.

(For some reason they think it is even better

in the snow!)

Josh had trouble keeping his boot on.

We LOVE snow!

Dec 30th we celebrated our 15th anniversary!

I was spoiled as usual by my husband with

flowers, jewelry and my favorite snack foods!

We went out for dinner and a movie while the

boys spent some great time with

Pop-pop and Nana.
